I’ve knitted a wall; yes you read it correctly, a wall. To be honest I actually stole the idea from a children’s activity tent at the Camden Green Fair. This tent was absolutely awesome, it had a huge knitted wall in black chunky yarn and all over it there were attached colourful buttons made out of spray painted jar lids. Mine is a simpler version, but I’m still pretty proud of how it came out. I made the knitting needles using broomsticks which I sanded with an electrical sander to get them smooth and pointy, then I painted two polystyrene balls (the kind you can find in any craft shop) with acrylic paint and glued them to the broomsticks. I tore cotton fabric to make the yarn, casted on using the backward loop method, and knitted my wall. The idea is to encourage to see new possibilities in what there is, and to show that you can knit with practically anything. It looks pretty neat in my stall doesn’t it? The thing is, that just as I finished this cool decorative project for my stall, I made a huge decision. To be fair, WE (my husband and I) made a huge decision. We are taking the wool stall to the next level and are opening a wool shop. Really scary, exiting and exhausting at the same time! I’ll tell you all about it later…

I just finished a fun and quite out of the ordinary project.
