Exhibitionist – Challenge 5

This week I asked everybody to show what they are working on at the moment. Until now the response I’ve received concerning the challenges has only been positive, but this one turned out to be a tricky one. One participant told me that this challenge made her feel guilty for having so many projects stored in her closet. I’m sorry if that is the way people feel, because that was not my intention at all. But let’s face it, if you are a truly knitaddict it does have some consequences, being broke and starting a lot of projects simultaneously are some of them. My thought was that showing our WIPs and UFOs might help us make status over our projects, which ones to finish and which ones to frog. I allways find looking at other peoples projects very inspiring, and that was my goal for this challenge – inspiration.

Now I’m like most other knitters, and even if I’m living in London for just a year, I’ve still managed to build quite a collection of projects. Ok (deep breath) here we go. At the moment I’m trying to finish the baby sleepingbag as fast as I can, and as you can see on the pic it’s just the finishing left. Simultaneously I’m working on my Plum Perfectica dress, which is the project I enjoy most working on at the moment. As soon as I’m done with the sleepingbag I’ll continue on my pink cardi which has been put on hold for quite a while, I can’t wait to continue, the basketknitting is so much fun and the Debbie Bliss yarn is very soft and lovely to work with. Then there is the never ending Pinwheel sweather, at least I’ve started on one of the arms. I find this project incredible boring, so I just pick it up when there is something keeping me from working on other projects, like when I run out of yarn or don’t have the equipment needed at the moment. Finally there is the Sea sweather, oh how I love that yarn, but everything else turned out really bad with this project. I don’t know where my eyes were when I measured and calculated this project cause nothing came out right. The plan is to frog it when I get the time, and then turn the yarn into something beautyful, as it deserves.
